The congregations of St. John United Church of Christ (520 Fairfield Avenue, Bellevue, KY) and St. John's United Church of Christ (415 Park Avenue, Newport, KY) have formed the Armed Forces Spiritual Network (AFSN), formerly called Military Ministry. The AFSN is made up of members and associates of the congregations to provide spiritual and resource supports for individuals currently or formerly involved with or affected by the Armed Forces. The network will assist with peaceful re-integration and assimilation into family, church, and community settings according to the teachings of Jesus Christ and his disciples.
This network is in the beginning stages of exploring ways to minister to and with those in the armed forces. For times and location contact chair of the network, Scott L. (AFSN@StJohnChurch.net). Also, the AFSN is actively forming a list of family members and friends of persons from the area currently serving in the Armed Forces who may be interested in the work and resources of AFSN.
